Social Justice News

Advent is quickly approaching and this year the Social Justice Club has many ways that you can show kindness and generosity in this important season.

We have a new way to help our community this year. We are participating in the Stuff in Stockings initiative.  Each class will get a stocking to fill up with toys and goodies for either a boy or a girl in a specific age range.  Some ideas are gift cards, toothbrushes, gum or chocolate, craft supplies, puzzles, socks and small toys.

We will continue to support those people accessing support from St. John’s Kitchen by again collecting toiletries.  We welcome donations of new bars of soap (no liquid, please), deodorant, safety razors, shaving cream, dental floss, toothpaste (no toothbrushes, please), hairbrushes, combs, shampoo and conditioner.

Our mountain of warm winter gear is growing daily.  We continue to collect gently used, clean donations of snow pants, coats, hats, mittens, gloves, scarves and boots.

All collections will end on Thursday, December 5th, so goods can be distributed.

Let’s continue to make our Spirit ripple!
